Annapurna Handicrafts Home

Mr. Kumar Bishwakarma is a metal artisan with 15 years experience in techniques and practices passed down from his ancestors. Originally from Nuwakot, he relocated to Kathmandu in 2006 to set up the Annapurna Handicrafts metal shop.

 

Using scrap metal they create jewellery and other accessories for sale at local markets and through Manushi to the international community.During the April 2015 earthquake he and his family lost their home in Budhanilkanth. The house was a shelter for him, his wife, his 5 children and his mother.

 

 

BEFORE

 

In March 2016, Manushi through its micro-credit program began the process of rebuilding their home. On June 30, 2016 in a small and intimate ceremony Manushi handed over the key to Mr. Biswakarma completed new home.

 

 

AFTER
